Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Create risk-focused data analytics and automation solutions for the Audit Service team, with accountability for the planning, alignment, execution, and reporting phases of supported audits.
  • Develop policy-driven and exception-based reporting to reduce manual audit test areas, reduce audit performance time, and identify value-added insights.
  • Understand the technology used to execute core business processes, including data schemas, dependencies, and flows, and incorporate data into analytics tools to create visualizations and reports highlighting key risks and anomalies.
  • Develop and manage relationships with IT and functional teams to ensure data and metrics provide organizational value, accurately reflect the business, and align with strategic data objectives.
  • Work with the audit team to adopt and integrate analytics into audit procedures, including on-site support for key analytics areas and projects.
  • Use analytics to support fraud investigations and other special investigations in coordination with Compliance, Ethics, and Security teams.
  • Mentor and lead a group of data champions within the audit team to develop analytics and visualization skill sets.
  • Promote a workplace culture that values diversity of thought, integrity, and accountability.
  • Provide a broad understanding of the food production industry business model, its risks and opportunities, and business processes and controls.
  • Identify opportunities for audit process automation and continuous auditing or monitoring through analytics, robotic process automation, and other tools, leveraging technology and data to optimize the internal audit process and engagements.
  • Manage a group of personnel who perform related tasks and activities.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Six or more years of audit or data analytics experience.
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Prior experience with SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, or RISE.
  • Knowledge of Teammate.
  • Certified Public Accountant and/or Certified Internal Auditor certification.

Tyson Foods closes 2 beef plants, cuts 3,200 jobs as US cattle herd hits 75-year low

Tyson Foods is closing beef plants in Joslin, Illinois, and Eagle Mountain, Utah, laying off approximately 3,200 employees. The Springdale, Arkansas-based company is also selling its Pasco, Washington facility. About 2,500 workers at the Joslin plant were affected immediately following Tyson's 13 August announcement. Up to 723 employees at Eagle Mountain will be laid off, with operations ending 12 October 2026. The closures follow a historic decline in US cattle inventory to 86.2 million head as of 1 January 2026, the lowest level in nearly 75 years according to the US Department of Agriculture. Tyson is restructuring around three facilities in Dakota City, Nebraska; Holcomb, Kansas; and Amarillo, Texas. The National Cattlemen's Beef Association said the Joslin closure would significantly impact Midwest cattle producers and rural communities.

Tyson Foods to close two beef facilities amid historic US cattle shortage

Tyson Foods is restructuring its beef operations in response to severe cattle shortages in the United States. The company will consolidate around three central facilities in Dakota City, Nebraska; Holcomb, Kansas; and Amarillo, Texas. The restructuring will result in closures at Joslin, Illinois and Eagle Mountain, Utah facilities. Tyson is also pursuing the sale of its Pasco, Washington beef plant. Capacity from closed locations will shift to the remaining facilities, which have room to expand. USDA cattle inventory data shows continued supply constraints, with limited heifer retention indicating the shortage will persist. The company plans to restart a second shift at its Amarillo facility as cattle become available. Tyson says the changes will maintain similar cattle harvesting levels across a more efficient network whilst ensuring continued delivery of protein products.
