We are looking for a full-time Benefits Team Lead to join our HR & Benefits department. This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our organization’s benefit programs, including health and wellness benefits, retirement plans, workers’ compensation, unemployment, system interfaces and updates, as well as policy and procedure revisions. Job repsonsibilities:
- Provides organizational support for workers’ compensation claims, tracks incident reporting, responsible for claims administration and reporting
- Oversees the Leave of Absence program; coordinates short-term/long-term disability claims as well as paid leave programs offered through state and/or local government programs; manages and tracks FMLA
- Answers questions and resolves problems related to claims processing, provider network problems, benefit programs and coverage, as well as eligibility and qualifying life events
- Communicates with employees, carriers, insurance broker, administration, payroll, IT, etc. to resolve problems
- Processes enrollments and changes, provides support to employees with all enrollment requests
- Leads new hire benefit and open enrollment orientations; provides support to new hires with enrollment and changes.
- Works with IT department on rate change updates and system administration issues
- Distributes required notices
- Conducts routine compliance audits using Tom James and vendor reporting data; performs routine integrity checks.
- Provides oversight and coverage for benefit team members
- Assists in planning/implementing company initiatives related to wellness and wellness activities
- Creates monthly benefit communications for employees
- Oversees vendor billing and invoicing, employee deductions/overpayment, refunds, collection of backlogged benefit premiums.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Experience/Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Prior experience in Benefits or HR administration required
- Prior AS400 knowledge desired
