Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • Three to eight years of related experience or five to twelve years of electrical commissioning experience is required.
  • Proficiency in using a personal computer and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Ability to understand one-line diagrams, schematics, and drawings is required.
  • Knowledge of electrical terminology and components is required.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code is required.
  • The position requires 100% travel.
  • The work schedule is generally Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 5 PM, but work may occur at any time on any day to meet business needs.
Responsibilities
  • Support the creation of complete project commissioning plans, resourcing plans, and commissioning execution activities based on the owner's, facility's, and equipment's functional requirements.
  • Plan sequenced activities, schedules, and documents, conduct on-site or jobsite execution, and audit jobsite commissioning activities.
  • Work with Preconstruction Managers and Project Managers at the beginning of projects to define commissioning requirements and establish plans for commissioning documentation and other deliverables.
  • Assist with creating lockout/tagout plans and start-up scripts.
  • Under the direction of an upper-level Commissioning Engineer, complete detailed procedures and checklists documenting that equipment performs to specifications and is integrated into a functioning system.
  • Assist the Commissioning Site Lead with establishing structure, training, and implementing lockout/tagout and start-up scripts.
  • Conduct field surveys.
  • Collect and enter data to ensure that equipment conforms to operational standards and requirements.
  • Provide support material or reports to Project Managers and the commissioning team as required.
  • Provide reports documenting that equipment functions according to project specifications and requirements.
  • Support field commissioning activities through research and by addressing needs during the commissioning process.
  • Provide guidance to office and field teams to ensure start-up activities comply with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
  • Work with equipment providers to troubleshoot installed equipment during start-up, testing, and commissioning.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
