Position Summary:
Transfr, a leader in the virtual reality educational and training software industry, is currently seeking an experienced Lead Unity Engineer to help build and expand our architecture for innovative products, collaborate on cross-functional projects, and identify and solve complex problems.
As a Lead Unity Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that our codebase is maintainable, scalable, and adheres to industry standards. You will also have the opportunity to lead and mentor a team of developers, encouraging growth and improvement within the team.

This role can operate 100% remote, or work with our team headquartered in NYC on a flexible, hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of our Unity-based projects, ensuring that code architecture and structure is up to standards and cleaned.
- Refactor the existing codebase into solid architecture and create automation tests whenever possible.
- Coordinate multiple build targets and merge them into a clean repository for master build.
- Work with tools to assist in automation of building and maintaining automation of building Azure and AWS.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to the team on Unity best practices and coding standards.
- Communicate solutions to the architect and executive team and document solutions that will be consumed by other team members.
- Identify and encourage areas of growth and improvement in the architecture and the team.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience as a Unity expert with a focus on Android development, VR preferred - Oculus SDK.
- Bachelor’s degree in CS (or related) or equivalent industry experience.
- Prior gameplay experience is a must.
- Good understanding of SOLID principles and ability to develop, coordinate and monitor schedules.
- Strong coding skills in Unity and C#.
- Strong communication skills and proven ability to work well in teams.
- Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
- Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.
- Aptitude and interest in leading projects end-to-end and mentoring others.
- Experience in creating tools is a plus.
What We Offer:
The base salary range for this position is expected to be between $160K and $200K, with the actual base salary amount dependent on a number of factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s credentials, relevant experience, and primary job location. In addition to salary this role will be eligible for additional company benefits such as stock options, 401(k), paid vacation and sick time, and medical/dental/vision insurance.
