Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Health, or Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering or demonstrated equivalent and a minimum of three years of field experience
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Must pass Savannah River Remediation drug and alcohol screening and have had no previous record of drug or alcohol-related convictions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, & Adobe)
  • Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email
  • All ProSidian staff must be determined eligible for a “Facility Access Authorization” (also referred to as an “Employment Authorization”) by the U.S. Government’s designated Security Office
  • Must be able to submit to varying levels of background investigations, up to a Top Secret or DOE "Q" clearance
  • Travel: Occasional travel may be required; flexibility for various shift schedules; on-call as delegated by schedule
  • Location: Work shall be conducted at or in proximity to Savannah River Site / Aiken, South Carolina
  • U.S. Citizenship Required - You must be a United States Citizen
  • Must be able to work at Savannah River Site / Aiken, South Carolina
  • Must have knowledge of OSHA regulatory requirements and be able to apply them to field conditions

Responsibilities
  • Provide Safety Specialist Support Services to the U.S. Department of Energy | Savannah River Site (SRS) in Aiken, SC 29808.
  • Analyze workplace activities and potential hazards to support initiatives within assigned facility(s) through review of work packages, walk downs, and observations.
  • Usually functions as a generalist responsible for multiple Safety and Health facets within assigned facility(s).
  • Responsible for identifying and mitigating hazardous conditions that affect workers, property, the environment, and the general public.
  • Apply Safety and Health standard theories, practices, concepts, principles and techniques; demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of Safety and Health standard theories, practices, concepts, principles and techniques; familiarity with OSHA regulatory requirements.
  • Provide conventional technical assistance to field operations on low to moderate risk scopes of work to ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State, Local and/or company safety and health regulations.
  • Review work packages and deliverables; conduct quality reviews of others' work on deliverables such as design calculations, engineering reports, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams on a variety of Safety and Health projects.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel for project work part time as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Certified as Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or Occupational Health and Safety Technologists (OHST) a plus
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP), or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
  • The ideal candidate is proficient with Microsoft Office products beyond baseline (Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) and Adobe Acrobat, data analytic tools, and Visio; ability to quickly learn other tools as necessary
  • On-call and flexible schedule experience preferred
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance is a plus
  • Experience or familiarity with Federal, State, Local and company safety and health regulations beyond OSHA
