Requirements
  • A CISRS Advanced Scaffolder qualification is required.
  • A valid CISRS Scaffolder Card is required.
  • Significant experience is required in industrial, marine, shipbuilding, construction, or heavy engineering environments.
  • Extensive knowledge of TG20, SG4, and Work at Height Regulations is required.
  • The ability to read and interpret scaffold design drawings and technical plans is required.
  • Experience inspecting, modifying, and certifying scaffolding structures is required.
  • A strong understanding of scaffolding materials, loadings, and structural principles is required.
  • The ability to complete scaffold handover certificates and inspection records is required.
  • Experience leading or supervising scaffolding teams is required.
  • Good knowledge of site safety procedures and permit-to-work systems is required.
Responsibilities
  • Erect, modify, and dismantle complex scaffolding structures in accordance with design drawings, TG20 guidance, SG4 requirements, and company procedures.
  • Construct independent scaffolds, birdcage scaffolds, cantilever scaffolds, suspended scaffolds, temporary roof systems, staircase towers, loading bays, and specialist access structures.
  • Read and interpret scaffold design drawings, engineering specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Assess work areas and determine suitable scaffold solutions for operational requirements.
  • Inspect scaffolding components before use and ensure they are fit for purpose.
  • Carry out scaffold inspections before handover, following modifications, after adverse weather conditions, and at prescribed intervals.
  • Complete scaffold handover certificates, inspection reports, and associated records accurately.
  • Assist in planning scaffold requirements for projects and maintenance activities.
  • Review risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work requirements.
  • Coordinate scaffold material requirements and ensure efficient utilisation of equipment.
  • Demonstrate visible safety leadership and promote a positive safety culture.
  • Ensure scaffolding activities comply with the Work at Height Regulations, company policies, and site procedures.
  • Ensure the correct use of fall protection equipment and personal protective equipment.
  • Participate in safety observations, audits, inspections, and incident investigations as required.
  • Support compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and environmental management requirements.
  • Ensure scaffolding works comply with approved designs, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, handover documentation, and work completion reports.
  • Report quality concerns and contribute to corrective and preventive actions when required.
