We’re looking for a General Manager to lead our Nutanix Database Service (NDB) team.  Nutanix Database Service is the only hybrid multi-cloud DBaaS for Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL. It is tailored to efficiently manage thousands of database platforms, across on-premises, colocation sites, and public clouds, with no complex migration required.   

You will be crucial in transforming how organizations manage and optimize their databases across diverse environments. As a key leader, you will be responsible for driving market growth, product innovation, strategic partnerships, and operational excellence. You will be a strong cultural influencer and ambassador.

The Nutanix Database Service (NDB) , launched four years ago, has experienced remarkable customer engagement since its inception. We’re now progressing into a new phase of NDB’s evolution, expanding into a comprehensive multi-cloud and hybrid offering. This expansion includes support for the most widely-used proprietary and open-source database engines.  

Our engineering and product management team is a collective of committed professionals dedicated to pioneering advancements in database management. The team, consisting of approximately 90 members, is globally distributed with a presence in India, the US, and Serbia. This diverse group includes seasoned engineers, product managers, and specialists who have been instrumental in developing innovative products and forging key strategic partnerships.

Your Role  

• Define the NDB product roadmap.
• Manage and mentor a global team of product managers and engineers.
• Be a strong culture influencer and ambassador.
• Drive significant market growth, achieving a year-over-year growth 
  target 40%+ for Nutanix Database Service.
• Work cross-functionally with Nutanix’s broader engineering and project management teams.
• Lead the development and launch of significant product enhancements or new features within the first 18 months.
• Drive strategy and annual market growth for Nutanix Database Service.
• Form partnerships and establish best practices with our Ecosystem players and channel partners- ISVs, IPVs, GSIs, SPs, and HSs.
• Streamline operations to refine NDB’s usability and customer satisfaction scores.
• Develop new strategies for market penetration.
• Work side by side with engineering and sales teams to capture customer needs and define product requirements.
• Collaborate with NDB PM team on DBaaS multi-cloud mobility strategy spanning on-premises, public cloud, and hybrid cloud scenarios.
• Evaluate new & emerging technologies in the database and database as a service ecosystem, such as Open Source and dev/ops database trends with Postgres, MongoDB, and Kubernetes, while also understanding database life cycle management automation, database-centric monitoring solutions, upgrade and scale management strategies for database systems.
• Drive and influence industry groups, partners, and analyst groups by bringing customer advocacy & real-world proof points at the heart of all such discussions.
• Engage with customers in the Nutanix field and partners.

What You Will Bring  

• Strong management skills and success in driving market growth/expanding customer base.
• Expertise in PaaS in the public cloud and DBaaS cloud offerings from any Hyperscalers or Database companies.
• 15+ overall industry experience and at least 7 to 10+ years of product management and engineering experience or equivalent experience with SaaS/Cloud applications and/or DBaaS solutions.
• Demonstrated ability in navigating through industry groups, and partners, articulating customer points of view to champion best-of-breed solutions around Databases.
• Leadership DNA with high energy and a proven ability to excite, influence, and guide cross-functional field-facing teams without formal authority.
• Experience in product innovation and development - Ability to establish and manage strategic partnerships.
• Excellent understanding of database management and hybrid cloud technologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
