Requirements
  • A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License is required for low-bed and low-boy vehicles.
  • A valid Class B Commercial Driver's License is required for tilt-bed and flatbed vehicles.
  • Compliance with all Department of Transportation physical requirements is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Candidates must pass Department of Transportation physicals.
  • Candidates must be able to give and receive written or oral instructions.
  • Candidates must be able to work independently.
  • Candidates must be skilled in loading and unloading heavy equipment.
  • Candidates must be able to read maps and follow directions to locations.
  • Candidates must be physically able to operate, move about, and maintain a dump truck.
  • Candidates must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Candidates must be able to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Responsibilities
  • Transport construction materials to customer or job-site locations.
  • Move construction materials at different job sites as assigned.
  • Conduct all work in accordance with company policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the assigned vehicle to maintain vehicle safety and identify damage, defective or nonworking parts, or signs of tampering.
  • Report all inspection problems to the shop immediately.
  • Drive to destinations while applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and local roads.
  • Maintain a truck log in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policy.
  • Promptly report traffic or site-condition problems and obtain information about job-site locations, light bridges, and roads along the route.
  • Maintain, clean, and repair trucks in accordance with the Truck Driver's Handbook.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required or assigned.
  • Load and unload equipment.
  • Operate, move about, and maintain a dump truck safely.
  • Interact professionally with the public and company personnel while making deliveries.
Desired Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Previous experience is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in all situations.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to change.
  • Ability to remain composed and exercise restraint while driving safely.
  • Adaptability and flexibility.
  • Ability to drive for long periods and perform prolonged sitting followed by hooking up, loading, and unloading equipment.
  • Ability to perform extensive and heavy physical activity and dexterity.
