Requirements
  • At least 5 years of relevant investment adviser, investment company compliance, or compliance consultant experience.
  • A bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, economics, marketing, or another related field of study.
  • Experience reviewing marketing materials for Investment Company Act registered funds and/or alternative investment products, including hedge funds and private investment products.
  • Expertise in regulations applicable to marketing activities, with emphasis on the Investment Company Act, SEC Marketing Rule, FINRA Rule 2210, and Rule 482.
  • Ability to apply analytical and decision-making skills in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment while balancing regulatory and policy standards with a business perspective.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, consistently execute work, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with confidence interacting with all levels of management.
  • FINRA Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 24 are required; Series 24 may be obtained after hire.
  • Experience using technology and artificial intelligence tools to strengthen internal processes and reporting.
Responsibilities
  • Review marketing materials for alternative investments and registered funds to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, including the Investment Company Act, SEC Marketing Rule, Rule 482, FINRA Rule 2210, and internal policies and guidelines.
  • Provide regulatory advice to stakeholders on applying the firm's marketing guidelines related to the Investment Company Act.
  • Assist with drafting appropriate disclosures.
  • Conduct testing for compliance with applicable regulations and marketing policies and procedures.
  • Partner with Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia-Pacific (APAC) compliance colleagues to maintain a coordinated approach across the firm's global marketing compliance program and tools.
  • Monitor regulatory marketing-related developments, proposals, and amendments and assess the compliance risk to the firm's activities.
  • Assess compliance risks related to the firm's marketing activities and communicate effectively with the business, including senior management.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to develop and deliver training, awareness initiatives, and related communications.
  • Maintain the firm's marketing policies and procedures.
  • Assist with responding to examinations and inquiries from internal and external parties.
  • Assist with maintaining marketing compliance-related applications.

Clay raises funding at $7B valuation, more than doubling in a year

Clay, a New York-based startup selling AI tools for sales and marketing teams, has agreed to a new funding round led by Wellington Management at a $7 billion pre-money valuation, Axios reported on 31 August. The round's exact size has not been disclosed, and it is unclear whether it has fully closed. The valuation marks Clay's third jump in about a year, up from $3.1 billion in August 2025 and $5 billion in a January 2026 employee tender offer led by DST Global. The company was founded in 2017 by Kareem Amin and Nicolae Rusan. Clay markets itself as a go-to-market platform that pulls data from over 150 external sources and uses AI agents to research prospects and personalise outbound sales messages. Its customers reportedly include OpenAI, Anthropic, and Canva.

Avere Therapeutics raises $500M to advance once-weekly oral IL-23 therapy AVR-001

Avere Therapeutics announced a $500 million private placement to advance AVR-001, its once-weekly oral IL-23 receptor antagonist for inflammatory diseases. Leading healthcare investors including Venrock Healthcare Capital Partners, General Atlantic, Blackstone Multi-Asset Investing, and Wellington Management participated in the funding round. Combined with a previously announced $320 million concurrent private investment, the proceeds will fully fund Avere's operations through 2029. The financing will close alongside Avere's merger with NextCure, expected in the second half of 2026.
