At the Commerce Backend team, we serve millions of Yahoo! users every day with the relevant Commercial features in the context they need. The backend system provides many technical challenges in the areas of user data mining and analysis, distributed computing, multi-terabyte storage systems, high-performance and high availability computing, etc. Our work is innovative, fun and impacts millions of users everyday.
A Lot About You:
You are a self-starter with a passion for creating software systems at scale. You will improve the experience for millions of Yahoo! users using Mail, Search, Media and other verticals around the world, innovating on web and mobile experiences. You are comfortable working in a dynamic environment, with the ability to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks to keep pace with a fast and innovative market. Your strong technical background, innovation and clear communication skills will serve you well in this demanding role, as will your comfort working with our high-energy team.
Your Day:
Design and Develop functional and object oriented software for scalable, high-performance Commerce platform/services
Build and deploy large scale systems and solutions
Work seamlessly in an individual and team settings on cutting edge technologies towards innovation on commerce products across different device platforms
Participate in a culture of learning through design discussions and code reviews
You Must Have:
Currently pursuing B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
Solid programming experience in one of Java, Scala or C++
Practical core knowledge of algorithms and data structures
Build and maintain production grade distributed software systems
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Structured thinker, excellent communication, interpersonal skills
Familiarity with Machine Learning technologies is a big plus

The compensation for this position ranges from $45,760.00 - $135,200.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
