Requirements
  • Minimum 4+ years leading and facilitating risk assessments such as Machine Guarding Risk Assessments, Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP), Process Hazard Analysis, or Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience supporting risk assessments and safety control implementation for automated manufacturing processes, robotics, robotic welders, etc
  • Subject matter expert for safety regulations and consensus standards such as Cal/OSHA, NFPA fire life safety, and ANSI robotics and machine guarding standards
  • Prior experience working with ACGIH design guidelines for ventilation
  • Prior experience supporting fire and life safety plans in accordance with California Fire Code, California Health and Safety Code, NFPA 101, and related consensus standards
  • Prior experience championing safety solutions for automated manufacturing processes, robotics, etc
  • Distinguished project manager with demonstrated experience completing complex safety-related projects from project initiation to closure
Responsibilities
  • Strategic EHS leader for new and existing manufacturing process design. Key leader influencing and managing implementation of EHS related controls or systems for new manufacturing processes, new site developments, and major infrastructure changes or upgrades
  • Develop and own standardized risk assessment process for new manufacturing solutions implemented at Relativity Space
  • Influence new work center designs to validate they meet applicable regulatory requirements including but not limited to Cal/OSHA, California Fire Code, and any other applicable regulations or consensus standards
  • Champion factory risk reduction through implementation of the NIOSH hierarchy of controls
  • Lead project efforts for risk reduction engineering controls, including but not limited to factory ventilation, fire suppression, and robot automation safety controls
  • Provide mentorship and training to Relativity Space EHS professionals on key safety engineering concepts including risk assessments, injury prevention through design, and automation safety controls
  • Support EHS team projects such as developing written compliance programs; conducting EHS training; leading incident root cause analysis; and developing strategic initiatives
Desired Qualifications
  • Any professional certifications such as PE, CSP, CIH, CHMM, PMP or related certification
  • Experience with design software such as Autocad, Visio, Bluebeam or related software
