Requirements
  • Entering at least the second year of higher education while pursuing a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good time management and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities
  • Record monthly journal entries and review trial balances in the general ledger system.
  • Prepare reports, schedules, and financial statements for management.
  • Maintain current documentation of processes and tasks.
  • Prepare and assist with analysis of statutory and generally accepted accounting principles financial statements.
  • Develop a basic understanding of statutory and generally accepted accounting principles guidance for the insurance industry.
  • Compose analytical schedules and gather information for independent auditors.
  • Perform routine clerical accounting activities in support of the department.
  • Participate in process improvement activities.
  • Complete special projects as requested.
