Requirements
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience in underwriting coordination, administrative support, or customer service roles in the insurance industry is preferred.
  • Must meet minimum requirements for state property and casualty and/or surplus line licenses.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date data and electronic and physical files for underwriting records, policies, and endorsements, and document underwriting decisions via automated desktop systems and tools.
  • Support the collection, validation, and organization of data related to insurance applications and underwriting submissions.
  • Coordinate the renewal process by gathering necessary information, preparing renewal documents, and assisting in client communications.
  • Coordinate with others to manage production activities such as submissions, quotes, declines, binds, and issuance to provide accurate, timely, and quality service to clients.
  • Underwrite individual insurance applications for property and casualty coverage by applying established guidelines for policy issuance and considering standard and substandard criteria.
  • Ensure that underwriting activities adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Assist in internal and external audits by providing documentation and information related to underwriting activities.
  • Collaborate with underwriting teams to relay information, coordinate tasks, and support the overall underwriting process.
  • Communicate with clients, brokers, and underwriters to gather additional information, clarify details, and address inquiries regarding underwriting submissions.
  • Deliver customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive experience for clients and stakeholders.
