Requirements

  • Knowledge of the credit union core system, forms, documentation, products, services, departments, procedures, and applicable regulations is required.
  • The ability to operate computers, related applications, telephones, adding machines, copy machines, coin-counting machines, and money-counting machines is required.
  • Good typing skills, accurate money handling, attention to detail, punctuality, self-motivation, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are required.
  • The ability to stand, walk, use hands to handle objects or controls, reach, communicate, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds is required.
Responsibilities
  • Process member transactions through interactive teller machines, including cash and check transactions, deposits, withdrawals, fund transfers, payments, and fund disbursements.
  • Provide members with account status and current balances and complete the appropriate forms to assist them.
  • Verify member identification, examine checks for endorsement and negotiability, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Balance the cash drawer and interactive teller machines at the end of each shift.
  • Maintain satisfactory transaction averages, cash overages or shortages, voids, and adjustments according to the individual scorecard.
  • Respond promptly to emails, voicemail, and other communications with members and coworkers.
  • Maintain current knowledge of credit union products, services, policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and security procedures.
  • Educate members and promote, explain, and cross-sell products and services that meet their needs.
  • Complete Office of Foreign Assets Control, currency reporting, Red Flag, and suspicious activity reports accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and security of the work area and equipment and follow all security policies and procedures.
  • Protect the confidentiality and privacy of member, employee, and credit union information.
  • Participate in training, conferences, educational functions, and meetings as requested by management.
  • Develop and cultivate community relationships.
  • For Level II and above, guide, train, mentor, and orient Level I specialists; troubleshoot account and service questions; make judgment decisions regarding altered or stale-dated checks; and suggest improvements to employees, service quality, or products.
  • For Level III, assist with balancing and account corrections, provide overrides and voids or adjustments, coach staff, support department meetings, and assist with product knowledge and cross-selling skills.
  • Follow compliance requirements related to the Bank Secrecy Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control, Red Flag requirements, anti-money-laundering regulations, and other applicable policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
