The 3D Imaging Technologist utilizes knowledge and experience gained from clinical experience in CT and/or MRI to process and produce multi-planar reformatted and three-dimensional images from volumetric scans of patients. The 3D Imaging Technologist works independently using various imaging computer workstations and multiple post processing software and hardware solutions. The 3D Imaging Technologist also works closely with radiology section chiefs to develop post-processing protocols. The 3D Imaging Technologist creates standard protocol views for a wide range of clinical anatomy and pathology.
A 3D Imaging Technologist must be experienced in cross-sectional computed tomography (CT) and/or (MR) and must understand cross-sectional anatomy to be able to recognize scan artifacts and abnormal anatomy/pathology in 3D images. Excellent interpersonal interaction and communication (oral, written, presentation) skills. Ability to perform tasks accurately with attention to detail, changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Ability to function independently and competently in stressful situations.
Job Duties:
- Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality.
- Utilizes appropriate imaging protocol and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety, optimizing patient care, and applying principles of ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable).
- Preparing and/or administering, as applicable, medications through new or existing vascular access site as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Evaluates images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality and verifies archival storage and/or transfer of data, post processing of data if applicable.
- Educating and monitoring students and other health care providers.
- Demonstrates commitment to department and organizational priorities.
- Fully proficient in all assigned routine and complex job duties.
- Participates in modality quality or process improvement activities.

Position Details:
The following certifications required upon hire:
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) or/ and
- ARRT-CT or ARRT-MR
Education:
Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Radiologic Technology (Required)
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years-Related work experience (Preferred)
