Requirements
  • 0-3 years' experience in an industrial setting in process/product chemical engineering or operations, depending on type of experience for Associate LNG Technician (Electrical)
  • Three (3) years' experience in an industrial setting in process/product chemical engineering or operations, depending on type of experience for LNG Technician (Electrical)
  • Five (5) years' experience in an industrial setting in process/product chemical engineering or operations, depending on type of experience for Sr LNG Technician (Electrical)
  • Associate degree (Typically two years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess an associate's degree)
  • Preferred Degree: Electrical, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Electrical Construction, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Electrical Technology
  • Must have a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card or have proof of TWIC card application
  • Willingness to work in an industrial environment with field work including inspection, testing, service, repair, configuration, calibration and installation of electrical components
  • Familiarity with Industrial Safe Work Practices
  • Experience with testing of electrical equipment including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, protective relay test equipment, microprocessor-based controls
  • Ability to interpret and maintain drawings and configuration control documentation related to electrical systems
  • Knowledge of plant electrical power generation and distribution systems and plant utilities (instrument air, water systems, power, emergency generation)
  • Basic computer skills and SAP experience
  • Strong analytical, communication, and technical writing skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve equipment or process problems to sub-component level
  • Ability to perform site inspections or walk downs, including working at heights
  • Ability to train or guide less experienced Electrical Technicians and Operators
  • Recent LNG or related petrochemical/hydrocarbon processing experience preferred
  • On-call rotation including after-hours weekends and holidays
Responsibilities
  • Assisting more experienced technicians in corrective and preventive maintenance inspections using digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, dielectric test equipment, protective relay test equipment, and microprocessor-based controls
  • Assisting more experienced technicians in testing of cable/bus, generators, switchgear, motor control centers, protective and network relaying, motors, heaters, transformers, lighting, HVAC, DC and Navigational aid systems
  • Recording and trending data as required
  • Interpreting and maintaining drawings and configuration control documentation related to the electrical system
  • Attending scheduled onsite/off-site training courses
  • Training on environmental and industrial safety operations and security procedures
  • Observing and abiding by site Electrical Safe Work Practices
  • Aggressively pursuing self-study training and qualification programs
  • Operating and maintaining the facility with awareness of safety and environmental consequences
  • Being on an on-call rotation with periodic after-hours on-site response including weekends and holidays
  • Performing duties with safety protocols and regulatory compliance
  • Performing engineering functions for electrical system modifications as Senior Technician
  • Serving as project leader for electrical system upgrades, modifications and commissioning activities (Senior Technician)
  • Occasionally providing training and instructional guidance for Electrical Technicians and addressing Operators' system issues (Senior Technician)
  • Interpreting and maintaining drawings and configuration control documentation for electrical systems
  • Supporting the electrical power generation and distribution system and plant utilities understanding (Senior Technician)
  • Trains on environmental industrial safety procedures and security procedures
  • Maintaining drawings and documentation related to industrial electrical systems
Desired Qualifications
  • LNG experience preferred; petrochemical NGL, cryogenic natural gas processing, industrial power plant or hydrocarbon facility experience may be acceptable
