About This Role

We are looking for a Senior Product and Regulatory Counsel who will be a critical member of Divvy’s legal team and will partner with other departments—including Product, Design, Engineering, Marketing, Growth, and Compliance—to launch and scale new products and services that support Divvy customers at every stage of their journey to homeownership. You will report directly to the Chief Legal Officer.

We have a documented equal pay policy, and do not negotiate on offers. To maintain fairness and keep starting total comp the same for anyone who comes into that position, individual pay is determined by role, level and work location only. At the offer stage, we give candidates 3 different offers to choose from depending on how they want to favor cash vs equity. The US based salary range for this position is $199,425 to $245,500 + equity + benefits. Please note: We have two different compensation tiers depending on your location. The range displayed reflects the Tier 2 minimum and Tier 1 maximum new hire salary across all US locations. Your Recruiter will discuss the relevant compensation range during your initial screen. 

Responsibilities:

• Provide primary legal support to Divvy’s platform services lines, which include mortgage, title, realty, and rentals
• Provide other corporate generalist support to the broader organization including, but not limited to, being the primary legal support function for legal review and negotiation of vendor agreements, NDAs, marketing agreements and work product, and other corporate matters
• Provide support regarding legal and compliance issues associated with federal, state and local consumer protection laws and regulations
• Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to provide ongoing legal support that appropriately balances with business objectives
• Participate in periodic reviews of all existing operations, procedures, and legal structures
• Manage relationships with external counsel at national and local levels
• Partner with the Chief Legal Counsel and other stakeholders on government relations initiatives

Skills & Experience:

• 6-9 years of legal experience either at a law firm or in-house
• Prior experience advising on real estate, consumer protection and/or privacy matters is preferred
• Strong legal analysis, drafting, and project management skills
• Systems thinking and strong bias towards action
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Startup mentality, growth mindset, and eager to solve complex problems
