Full-Stack Engineering Intern

Flyx (flyx.ai) is an AI research company building a suite of LLM-based consumer applications. Founded by a team of second-time founders who collectively raised ~$1 billion for their previous companies, Flyx is incubating cutting-edge consumer LLM products. Flyx’s founding team comes from Harvard, Wharton, Stanford, the Thiel Fellowship, and includes 3 YC founders. This Full Stack Engineering Internship is part of Flyx’s In-School Engineer (ISE) program. The ISE program allows students pursuing a 4-year degree in engineering or business to work at Flyx for 1-year in conjunction of their schooling. During the program, ISE’s are challenged as regular full-time employees and are evaluated for full-time promotion upon graduation.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a Full-Stack Engineering Intern who knows how to optimize stack for maximum dev iteration speed. You’ll build good architectures while avoiding over-engineering. 

An interest in generative AI, large language models is a plus! Prior knowledge or experience with machine learning is not required. We’ll be building around GPT-3 and most of the work to be done is standard engineering, not reward model refinement.

Core Responsibilities

• Work with fellow engineers to design architectures for front-end and back-end features
• Guide and lead infrastructure planning
• Design architectures for a large number of external integrations
• Breakdown projects for individual IC’s

Tech Requirements

• Machine Learning Experience Not Required (this is important! We are an AI/ML company but most of the engineering work does not require ML experience.)
• TypeScript Experience Required
• Postgres Experience Required
• Strong React Experience Required
• Strong Infrastructure/Devops Experience Required
