Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture and four years of relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Licensure as a registered architect or demonstrated progress toward licensure, such as completed examinations, preferably in Ohio.
  • Knowledge of building systems and materials.
  • Knowledge of local building codes.
  • Ability to produce design-intent renderings and design-concept diagrams.
  • The position requires working in a hybrid environment and is not remote.

Responsibilities
  • Perform basic architectural and engineering calculations.
  • Prepare specifications, reports, and related data tables.
  • Maintain liaison with design and drafting groups.
  • Prepare, review, and approve drawings as required.
  • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, independently perform advanced technical assignments of varying complexity within approved schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and departments participating on an assigned project.
  • Assist in training and evaluating assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.
  • Review and approve conceptual designs.
  • Assist in developing new architectural methods and techniques.
Desired Qualifications
  • Six or more years of professional experience with an architectural firm.
  • Technical skills related to planning, architectural design, and detailing, with experience developing high-quality design and detailing for complex projects.
  • Experience coordinating work with civil, landscape, and mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural disciplines.
  • Broad knowledge of architectural principles and practices and related fields.
  • Ability to analyze and apply solutions to challenging issues within the area of expertise using critical thinking.
  • Accountability for larger portions of a project or process and preparation of project deliverables reviewed by senior team members.
  • Experience initiating and developing design and construction-document drawings through completion for assigned projects in conformance with applicable codes and established design criteria.
  • Ability to complete moderately complex design assignments under indirect supervision, analyze issues, identify solutions, propose approaches for novel issues, and exercise independent judgment in determining how work is performed.
  • Experience with construction administration and permitting processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with peers and provide guidance and training to junior team members.
  • Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High proficiency in 3D modeling software, including Revit, SketchUp, and/or Rhino.
  • Federal project experience.
  • Interest or experience integrating artificial intelligence into the architecture and engineering service model.
