- Experience working in J2EE and core Java packages
- Prior experience with Virtualization and RackSpace Cloud Infrastructure
- Bachelor's degree (BS) in Computer Science/Engineering or any other top tier Information Technology discipline
- Solid experience working with web services (REST, SOAP/WSDL and XML/XSLT)
- Solid working knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP/S, SNMP and SSH
- Demonstrable experience with Relational Databases (Oracle), LDAP/X.500, JDBC, XMPP and AMQP
- Experience developing front end user interfaces with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Struts/JSF
- Experience with enterprise messaging systems and designing asynchronous applications using technologies such as JMS, AMQP/RabbitMQ or XMPP
- Experience working with open source software such as Spring, Hibernate, Hadoop, Apache Commons, Tomcat, and MySQL is preferred
- Strong Object Oriented Analysis and Design/UML/AOP skills. Must have good understanding of database design/ERDs
- Shell scripting experience with Perl and/or Python
- Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle in Agile environment
- Must be a good team player with excellent communication skills, presentation skills and attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership of tasks
- Knowledge of Video Controller Systems is a strong plus
- Take ownership for interfaces that will need to be developed as part of this job
- Develop the interfaces based on Agile project requirements, Core team and Vendor inputs and by data mining
- Actively involved in design and development activities including the creation of class models, sequence diagrams, and detailed design specifications to ensure that requirements are met and technology standards are followed
- Closely work with the product manager, project management, chief architect and external vendors to plan application/interface releases and content of releases
- Experience with open source software such as Spring, Hibernate, Hadoop, Apache Commons, Tomcat, and MySQL is preferred
- Knowledge of Video Controller Systems is a strong plus
