Requirements
  • Demonstrate the ability to prepare, oversee, coordinate, and review the work of professional and technical personnel
  • Be able to efficiently perform accurate engineering calculations and cost estimates
  • Be proficient in preparing and reviewing complex plans, specifications, legal documents, technical reports, and studies in order to make data-based decisions
  • Have strong interpersonal as well as communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Hold a valid certificate of registration as a Professional Engineer issued by the State of Nevada
  • Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in civil engineering
  • Three years of responsible professional civil engineering experience, preferably in a water utility
Responsibilities
  • Perform complex professional engineering work in the research, planning, design and construction of waterworks capital and/or maintenance projects
  • Coordinate the work of professional and technical staff
  • Perform related duties as assigned

  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of management and supervision

  • Ability to perform difficult technical research and analyze complex engineering and mathematical problems
  • Ability to motivate and evaluate assigned staff and provide for their training and professional development
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those encountered in the course of the work
