We’re looking for an experienced hands-on Software Architect to join our Endpoint Engineering team. Reporting to the Director, Engineering, you’ll be responsible for:

Propose scalable design and architecture for features, measure and demonstrate performance gains scientifically and identify scale bottlenecks and proposing solutions with proof of concepts.
Influence engineering leaders across the company to ensure all features will provide meet our long-term scale expectations and guide long-term optimization strategies
You will provide solutions to improve performance assessment lifecycle in both production and lab
Promote performance best practices through technical presentations at important forums for influencing broader products and author portfolio and program-level documents for Performance and scale that influence broader organization.
Assess the feasibility of technical feature proposals and ensure that projects are cohesive with well-founded, long-term visions

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

You have expert programming skills in Java - coding 50% of the time
15+ years of relevant industry experience with emphasis on performance and scale
You have experience in large-scale distributed architecture and experience working with available products (24/7)
You have experience in root cause analysis of performance bottlenecks in lab and production

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

Knowledge of database fundamentals: SQL, schema, internals (Postgres) , ASH (Active Session History) and experience in HBase, Hadoop is plus
Experience with Java samplers or profilers like Visual VM or similar tools
Agile/ Scrum methodology experience

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range

$192,500—$275,000 USD
