  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) related discipline with 2 years of relevant experience; Master’s degree in STEM related discipline with 0 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) related discipline with 5 years of relevant experience; Master’s degree in STEM related discipline with 3 years of relevant experience; or a PhD
  • Strong requirements development and management skills using DOORS (or equivalent software)
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate to team members, customers, and suppliers
  • Must be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite.
Responsibilities
  • Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, reliability and system safety analysis of rocket motor propulsion systems.
  • Analyses are performed at the sub-system product level to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, operation, maintenance and disposal.
  • Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • A Systems Engineer in this business area is responsible for working with a broad customer base to identify unique requirements, flow the requirements into design documentation, and work with a diverse design team to support the build and test of propulsion systems.
  • Presenting to customers on the capabilities of current products, performance analyses, design information, and requirements verification methods.
  • Generating, reviewing, and managing multiple requirements sets that cover all aspects of both performance and nonperformance including mechanical interfaces, electrical interfaces, data requirements, environmental requirements, reliability, and systems safety.
  • Awareness and responsiveness to contract milestones and deliverables.
  • Working with a team of subsystem engineers and subject matter experts to ensure the designs are sufficient to meet the system requirements.
  • Working with integration and test engineers to ensure all requirements are verified through inspection, analysis, demonstration, or test often by providing test and data reduction inputs.
  • Collaborate on providing direction to ensure production tests and troubleshooting tests are executed correctly and resulting data conforms to requirements.
  • Develop simulation models for propulsion systems.
