Palantir builds software that helps large organizations run their digital transformation by giving them tools to access, connect, and analyze all of their data. Its platforms pull data from many sources, clean and link it, and then let users explore dashboards, reports, and AI-powered insights to make informed decisions. Unlike many analytics tools that focus on one data source or a single function, Palantir emphasizes an integrated, enterprise-wide data foundation with governance and security to support complex environments. The goal is to turn raw data into actionable intelligence that guides strategy and operations, helping clients deploy and scale transformative programs.

Palantir CEO Alex Karp is becoming the first major investor in a new defence technology company launched by Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine's former defence minister who was dismissed in July. Karp, investing personally rather than through Palantir, said he had worked with Fedorov for five years and called the venture "defining for the world". The startup will focus on battlefield robotics, jet-powered interceptor drones and low-cost AI-guided missiles, bringing Ukraine's wartime experience to allied countries. Neither the investment amount nor the startup's name has been disclosed. The announcement comes as Palantir's government business thrives. Second-quarter US government revenue grew 90% year-over-year to $809 million, whilst overall revenue grew 93% to $1.935 billion.
Palantir Technologies announced three partnerships on Thursday, including a collaboration with Nvidia that embeds Palantir's AI software into Nvidia's supply chain operations. The initiative will span 1.3 million parts across Nvidia's systems and millions of components from thousands of suppliers. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said the goal is to turn "this vast operational graph into sovereign intelligence". The companies plan to offer the technology to customers in manufacturing, energy, healthcare and aerospace. Palantir also partnered with Method Security to launch a free cybersecurity programme for US critical infrastructure operators, and expanded its relationship with Japan's Fujitsu. Palantir shares edged 0.3% lower in pre-market trading despite the announcements.
President Trump's June financial disclosures show his brokerage accounts sold substantial positions in Palantir Technologies and Meta Platforms. The accounts made net sales of $414,000 to $785,000 in Palantir shares and $687,000 to $4.2 million in Meta stock across multiple transactions. Third-party financial institutions manage these accounts, meaning Trump did not personally direct the trades. Despite these sales, most Wall Street analysts believe both companies are undervalued. Palantir develops AI and data analytics platforms using a unique "ontology" framework that connects data to operations. The company reported second-quarter revenue growth of 93% to $1.9 billion, its 12th consecutive acceleration, whilst non-GAAP earnings per share rose 215% to $0.41. Wall Street's median target price suggests 20% upside potential for Palantir shares.
Method Security and Palantir Technologies have launched the Cardinal Program, offering free autonomous security assessments to municipalities, utilities, and critical infrastructure operators in the US. The initiative aims to strengthen national cyber resilience through continuous red teaming. Method's platform will map and test participating organisations' internet-facing assets to identify vulnerabilities, powered by frontier and open-weight AI models. Palantir will provide secure infrastructure through Foundry, AIP, and its Ontology for Cybersecurity to integrate findings and support collaboration. Assessments will emulate real-world adversary behaviour within defined parameters, with safeguards and human oversight to prevent disruption. The programme targets organisations protecting essential infrastructure facing adversaries using increasingly capable AI. Security experts will review findings and provide hardening guidance. Organisations protecting critical systems can request assessments through the Cardinal Program website.
Snowflake's AI-powered data cloud platform is outperforming Palantir this year, with shares up 53% compared to Palantir's 4% decline. The company added 692 net new customers in Q2 of fiscal 2027, a 32% year-over-year increase, bringing its total to over 14,500 customers. Snowflake's AI tools, including the CoWork personal agent and CoCo AI coding assistant, are driving growth. Over 5,800 customer accounts use CoWork, whilst more than 9,100 use CoCo. The company reported 35% revenue growth to $1.55 billion last quarter. Earnings per share jumped 77% year over year to $0.62, beating the consensus estimate of $0.45. A McKinsey survey found that 80% of AI users report higher productivity, helping explain strong demand for AI software solutions.
