Requirements
  • Knowledge of project life cycles.
  • Knowledge of American Institute of Architects construction invoices and computation of retainage.
  • Knowledge of budget development and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant federal and state laws, city ordinances, and department policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to Accounting or Finance.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the financial aspects of projects, ensuring they stay within budgetary restraints and align with organizational objectives.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between team members, management, and vendors to achieve project goals.
  • Process and review construction invoices, verify retainage, and ensure timely payments to vendors.
  • Enter and review budget adjustments for compliance with City policy.
  • Review expense requisitions for appropriate coding.
  • Provide assistance to departments on matters related to budget allocations and reports.
  • Review expense reports and research discrepancies to ensure expenditures remain within budgeted amounts.
  • Assist departments in preparing the operating fiscal year budget, capital plan, and position allocation list.
  • Prepare regular and special reports.
  • Assist in reviewing operational and financial budget proposals submitted by department heads and managers.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting operation and capital budget summaries for review by senior management and City Council.
  • Assist in preparing final budget documents.
  • Perform related duties.
