Our vision is to bring the functional properties of human proteins to food. Helaina will be the first company to put human milk proteins into food, defining a new category of consumer nutrition products focused on supporting immunity. We will initially launch a first-of-its-kind infant formula – the only infant formula with immune-nourishing proteins found in human milk. We also see a range of opportunities to use our breast milk proteins to enhance other types of functional foods for all segments of the population.

About the Job:
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, tracking, and enabling the on-time achievement of cross functional projects to achieve Helaina’s milestones in the business, R&D, and regulatory fronts. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop project plans, track progress, identify gaps and deliver timely completion of goals within set budgets and timelines. You will communicate and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure that our projects align and support company objectives and milestones.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the planning, execution, and close out of all assigned projects
- Organize project meetings, prepare agendas, maintain detailed notes, and follow up on action items
- Aim for high quality deliverables while staying within budget and timelines
- Build Gantt charts and detailed schedules, resource plans and budgets
- Assess project feasibility and perform risk management to minimize project risks
- Promote productive working relationships and maintain real-time communication with project stakeholders
- Manage changes to a project, communicate changes to stakeholders, and redirect project goals as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
About You:
- You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a science field (life sciences, chemical engineering, food science) or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- You have at least 5 years of experience in project management and prior technical experience
- Bonus points if you have a PMP certification or equivalent
- You have hands-on experience and expert knowledge of project management and visualization software
- You have excellent organization and communication skills
- You are self-motivated, resourceful, quick learner and adaptable
- You have strong project management skills, in particular planning, decision making, and negotiation skills
- You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- You are able to prioritize activities and follow through to completion
- You are able to multi-task and complete assignments in a timely and efficient manner
- You are able to handle multiple complex projects in a fast-paced startup environment
- You are able to lead, influence and work well with people at all levels of our company
Compensation is market-competitive with a yearly cash base of $85k - $100k plus equity.
