Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering and a minimum of 7 years of experience in an aerospace-related field are required.
  • Direct involvement in the definition and certification of at least one fly-by-wire and/or secondary flight-control system is required.
  • Good understanding of system definition, integration, and certification, including aircraft systems and interfaces such as electrical, hydraulic, avionics, and auto-flight systems, is required.
  • Knowledge of the Part 25 certification process is required.
  • Excellent oral presentation skills in English and French are required.
  • Technical writing skills in English are required.
  • The ability to work with limited supervision, remain organized, work under pressure, and communicate effectively with customers and colleagues is required.
  • Initiative, innovation, responsibility, integrity, adaptability, sound engineering judgment, and a results-oriented approach are required.
Responsibilities
  • Integrate the fly-by-wire and secondary flight-control system on the aircraft.
  • Support the development of concepts, design approaches, and design philosophies with the flight-control-system supplier.
  • Perform and review analyses to evaluate concept feasibility.
  • Develop, validate, and verify technical requirements for the flight-control system.
  • Review and prepare technical requirements.
  • Review and prepare test procedures.
  • Execute test-rig and/or aircraft testing.
  • Review and prepare test reports supporting certification activities.
  • Resolve problems arising from in-service aircraft through troubleshooting, root-cause determination, and definition and execution of corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with the ARP4754 development process.
  • Support trade-off studies and life-cycle cost analyses for future programs.
  • Ensure that the design process and resulting equipment implementation comply with customer requirements and standards.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in modeling and dynamic simulation of electrical and hydraulic flight-control actuators.
  • Working knowledge of the MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow simulation environment.
  • Familiarity with simulation environments such as ADAMS.
  • Familiarity with design tools such as CATIA.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and requirements-management tools.
  • Technical writing skills in French.
