Requirements
  • An Associate’s Degree with classes in education, psychology, counseling, or a related field.
  • Two years of administrative experience in an office environment.
  • One year of experience working with people with disabilities.
  • Candidates must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the creation and approval of accommodation plans for students with disabilities.
  • Develop and facilitate workshops, including sessions on executive functioning, assistive technology, self-advocacy, and disability counseling.
  • Update accessibility office policies and procedures and maintain related records.
  • Handle day-to-day student casework and facilitate the interactive accommodation process.
  • Review medical or educational documentation and determine reasonable accommodations.
  • Manage student and faculty inquiries, schedule appointments, and oversee office records.
  • Gather statistics and assessment data for departmental reviews and audits.
  • Refer students to campus resources and promote an accessible college environment.
  • Resolve faculty and student testing-center escalations and provide acting support when additional staffing is needed.
  • Ensure the testing center’s IT infrastructure and software support required assistive technologies.
  • Arrange additional testing space when needed.
  • Communicate with students and faculty through trainings, workshops, orientations, and website updates.
  • Facilitate monthly meetings with the Student Accessibility Workgroup.
  • Maintain an electronic record-keeping system, confidential student files, and aggregate data.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • Experience working in an accessibility office in higher education.
  • Experience with student information systems or similar database systems.
