Requirements
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and present facts and to interpret and apply rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of current automation technology, computer security, and communications connectivity requirements.
  • Knowledge of computer network administration, local-area networking technology, data communications, protocols, architectures, equipment, operating systems, and network topologies.
  • Knowledge of data and process modeling methodology, information-processing standards, and configuration-management principles.
  • Knowledge of common microcomputer and minicomputer hardware, peripherals, software, and Army information-management and automated-data-processing guidance.
  • Ability to meet and deal with customers using a high degree of tact and diplomacy.
  • A valid computer-environment training certificate such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or a Department of Defense 8570.01-M information-assurance baseline-equivalent certification is required; a six-month grace period from the first day of employment is permitted if not already held.
  • Willingness to register in the Army Training Certification Tracking System at commencement of services.
  • Willingness to complete required information-assurance, antiterrorism, iWATCH, operations-security, computer-security, and Privacy Act training and briefings within the stated deadlines and at the required recurring intervals.
  • Willingness to undergo the government-issued background-investigation process.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as Workstation Administrator for TAP information-technology systems and as the primary liaison between TAP and the Fort Riley Network Enterprise Center.
  • Identify and track modifications required to enhance and maintain installed hardware and software configurations, and ensure planned and actual installations comply with Network Enterprise Center standards.
  • Establish and maintain Fort Riley information-technology service-management and Information Assurance Security Officer accounts, and submit monthly trouble-ticket printouts to the Contracting Officer's Representative.
  • Establish and maintain an internal trouble-ticket log for user-reported information-technology problems, and provide a monthly trouble-ticket report to the Contracting Officer's Representative.
  • Attend Fort Riley Information Management Officer training and monthly Information Management Officer meetings hosted by the Network Enterprise Center.
  • Field help requests by phone and work order, diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems for TAP staff and classroom facilitators, and provide customer support from initial contact through request or incident closure.
  • Facilitate user logins, administer assigned user accounts and file-rights management, and apply diagnostic utilities to troubleshoot issues.
  • Identify trends and patterns in support requests and participate in developing improved TAP information-technology processes and procedures.
  • Identify and immediately report unauthorized information-technology access to the Contracting Officer's Representative, and enforce security and information-assurance policies and protocols on TAP systems.
  • Configure applications, system software, hardware, and local peripherals; install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain customer hardware and software; and monitor Network Enterprise Center-pushed software and updates.
  • Track Internet Protocol addresses and data-jack numbers for networked hardware, and establish and resolve connectivity between local and Network Enterprise Center systems.
  • Open trouble tickets for unresolved hardware and software issues, and install and configure new TAP information-technology systems within two workdays of receipt.
  • Analyze and define network requirements; assist with network architecture, capacity, and workload monitoring; and diagnose and resolve network problems.
  • Apply information-security and information-assurance policies, principles, and practices when delivering network services.
  • Submit weekly workload and work-order status reports to the Contracting Officer's Representative.
  • Comply with COVID-19 and other Fort Riley health and safety guidance as directed.
