What You’ll Do

• Collaborate with Product Managers, UX designers, and other stakeholders to develop tools and libraries that support and expand Business Wire products
• Work independently and suggest ideas, solutions, and technical improvements for products and systems to increase revenue, reduce time to market, and make our systems more capable of adapting to shifting business requirements
• Lead a team of Engineers and maintain a high bar of quality while remaining hands-on in the code.
• Lead and participate in critical technical, design, and product discussions with leaders across our product and operations teams
• Write clean, maintainable code that includes unit and integration tests
• Help improve our processes and champion best practices
• May provide operational development support and participate in on-call support rotation
• Mentor and support peers, and onboard new developers 

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience in a related field.
• 8+ years of full-stack software development experience
• 5 years of experience as a Java developer.
• 2 years of experience with databases, including one year of Oracle RDBMS.
• Extensive knowledge of Java and standard packages/libraries.
• Experienced in AWS development with hands-on knowledge of Lambda, S3, and other AWS services
• Experience with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with J2EE and Junit
• Experience creating RESTful APIs and Microservices
• Superb interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
• Great organizational and time management skills.
• Availability to resolve urgent web application issues outside of business hours.


Desired:


• Exposure to test automation: TDD, unit/integration/functional testing
• Exposure to web/cloud application design and architectural principles
• Exposure to debugging high-priority production issues
• Exposure to EJB

What We Offer
The base salary range for this position is $140K to $200K/year.  Offered salary will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data.  Business Wire reserves the right to modify this salary range at any time.
