Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A technical certification or associate degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of inspection experience in aerospace, aviation, defense, medical device, or precision manufacturing environments is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications is required.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing is required.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments is required.
  • An ASQ Certified Quality Inspector certification is preferred.
  • Experience with AS9100 quality systems is preferred.
  • Experience performing First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102 is preferred.
  • CMM operation and programming experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with FAA, EASA, military, or defense industry requirements is preferred.
  • Experience using enterprise resource planning and Quality Management Systems is preferred.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 pounds is required.
  • Manual dexterity is required for handling small precision components.
  • Ability to perform detailed visual inspections is required.
  • Ability to work in office and manufacturing environments is required.
  • Applicants considered for hire must pass a pre-employment drug test.
Responsibilities
  • Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections of machined components, assemblies, and materials.
  • Conduct first article, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Use precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, gauges, height gauges, dial indicators, optical comparators, coordinate measuring machines, and surface plate inspection equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing requirements, specifications, and quality plans.
  • Review material certifications and supplier documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Obtain and maintain required certifications.
  • Conduct First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102 requirements.
  • Verify material certifications, process certifications, and traceability documentation.
  • Identify, document, and report nonconforming materials and products.
  • Generate and maintain inspection records and quality documentation.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality procedures and aerospace standards.
  • Review work orders, travelers, inspection plans, and quality records for completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate inspection reports and records in accordance with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Support customer, regulatory, and internal quality audits.
  • Ensure adherence to AS9100 and customer-specific requirements.
  • Verify dimensional, visual, and functional product requirements.
  • Monitor the calibration status of inspection equipment.
  • Assist in identifying process improvement opportunities.
  • Support quality initiatives aimed at reducing defects and improving efficiency.
  • Participate in quality meetings and problem-solving teams.
  • Promote safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Work in manufacturing, production, laboratory, and inspection environments.
