- A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent field is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of combined experience in Process Engineering, Project Engineering, Project Management, and/or Operations Management is required.
- Working knowledge of shop equipment, including lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, saws, and welders, is required.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing effective manufacturing and distribution is required.
- Working knowledge of servo motors, servo drives, and alternating-current/direct-current variable-frequency drives is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Autodesk AutoCAD, and Autodesk Inventor for three-dimensional design and modeling is required.
- Knowledge of statistical process control methodology is required.
- Ability to collect and analyze data, define areas of opportunity, and implement appropriate countermeasures is required.
- Experience overseeing equipment design, build, installation, and startup is required.
- Electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic design, troubleshooting, and repair skills are required.
- Knowledge of automation controls is required.
- Lead projects involving the analysis, development, and validation of manufacturing processes for production facilities.
- Provide oversight of equipment and process definition for the specified business segment.
- Conduct research and develop production methods using knowledge of product design, industrial automation, assembly, tooling, and materials.
- Mentor less experienced engineering staff members.
- Define, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods for maximum efficiency.
- Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components for industrial machinery and equipment.
- Fabricate and assemble structural metal products, including machinery frameworks, drives, and metal parts for production machinery.
- Develop layouts and plan the sequence of operations for process design.
- Assist Product Management with ensuring proper design for manufacturing.
- Communicate with vendors and customers to understand and determine product specifications.
- Generate new and modify existing drawings using Autodesk products.
- Develop standard operating procedures for new equipment and other technical documentation needed for production.
- Set up and conduct tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to investigate proposals for improving equipment performance.
- Oversee process sign-off for manufacturing processes at each plant.
- Define safety checklists and lockout/tagout procedures for new and modified manufacturing equipment.
- Manage and oversee projects from start to finish while meeting defined deadlines.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert and exchange ideas with employees at all organizational levels.
- Oversee capital budgets and project spending.
- A Six Sigma Black Belt certification is strongly desired.
