Key Responsibilities
- System Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair issues in control systems, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), SCADA systems, and other automation equipment.
- Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and calibrate control systems, sensors, actuators, and related instrumentation to meet operational requirements.
- Programming and Optimization: Program, modify, and optimize PLCs, HMIs, and other control devices to improve system performance and reliability.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on control systems to ensure consistent operation and compliance with safety standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to support equipment upgrades, process improvements, and system integrations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, system configurations, and programming changes. Update technical documentation, including schematics and manuals.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations, industry standards (e.g., OSHA, NEC), and company policies. Ensure control systems meet regulatory and environmental requirements.
- Emergency Response: Provide rapid response to equipment failures or system malfunctions to minimize production downtime.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree or technical certification in electrical engineering, automation, controls technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls systems, or a related field.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi).
- Familiarity with HMI
- Knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control circuits.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., ISA Certified Control Systems Technician, Rockwell Automation certifications) are a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods. May require occasional work at heights or in varying environmental conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with robotics, servo systems, or motion control.
- Knowledge of industrial networking and cybersecurity practices for control systems.
