FCN misses Q2 EPS estimates by 12% as margin pressures and Middle East, UK challenges weigh on results

FTI Consulting reported second-quarter revenue of $993.5 million, up 5.3% year-on-year and in line with Wall Street expectations. However, non-GAAP earnings of $1.99 per share missed analyst estimates by 11.9%. The business advisory firm attributed weaker profitability to higher selling, general, and administrative expenses, including one-time legal and compensation costs. Operating margin declined to 8.6% from 10.5% in the prior-year quarter. CEO Steven Gunby noted strong performance in Spain and Germany but cited challenges in the Middle East and UK. The company reconfirmed full-year revenue guidance of $4.02 billion whilst raising adjusted earnings per share guidance to $9.40 at the midpoint. CFO Angela Nam expects SG&A expenses to decrease in the second half, with improved profitability from investments in senior talent and growth in Economic Consulting and Technology segments.
