ESBO (EMEA Service Business Organisation) is responsible for identifying, evaluating and determining new opportunities within the digital media and advertising industry with the goal of creating scalable services and businesses on top of the global footprint of Samsung Devices. The ESBO team is working to bring value for partners, advertisers, and agencies through its unique insights into TV viewership in the shifting media landscape.
We’re looking for a driven, collaborative and forward thinking person to lead our ESBO Business Operations team. In this role, you will be the finance partner and trusted adviser to our advertising sales team and partner teams ensuring that the drivers of performance are well understood, and providing your business partners with actionable insights.
Role and Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities
Maximise business performance by identifying gaps and improving the efficiency of existing processes whilst ensuring they are customer centric.
Work closely with business owners of various divisions (Product, Samsung TV Plus, Advertising, Partnerships) to find opportunities that will lead to an increase in sales or reduction in costs
Analyse meaningful data to develop and implement effective methods and processes that help achieve business goals in an efficient and timely manner.
Lead the selection, development, implementation, and tracking of operational tools and processes to provide insight into business performance and obstacles to pivotal initiatives.
Onboard new tools while ensuring an efficient connectivity between those tools (i.e. Salesforce, Operative, JIRA, Sales navigator, SAP etc.)
Define, implement, maintain and enforce operations processes, policies & workflows for ESBO teams. Ensure they align with internal global policies and external regulations. This involves working closely with global teams (legal, privacy, product and engineering, finance) across Samsung.
Lead regular benchmarking exercises of ESBO vs. other global teams and externally with competitors to align on standard processes in our operations.
Lead the coordination of cross functional projects and supervise distribution of projects ownership amongst project managers in the team.
Create, maintain, and distribute up-to-date departmental reports as requested
Your key people management responsibilities –
Lead career development and talent retention of the team while driving a culture of continuous improvement of processes and information flow.
Provide clarity on strategy, team purpose & value and define the key areas of focus and direction.
Support the development of your team through regular mentoring, coaching and feedback, 1:1s and on the job learning opportunities.
Role model inclusion for your team to build trust and psychological safety.
Ensure communication with your team is a core focus area including cascade of information from LT’s and relevant business updates.
Lead the on boarding, off boarding process and the entirety of the colleague lifecycle process for all team members.
Run annual people management cycles such as goal setting, evaluation and salary reviews to a high quality and in a timely manner.
To be responsible for ensuring your team adheres to processes and procedures, such as meeting required business cyclical deadlines and understanding the things we value.
What we need for this role
To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
Proficient understanding of media, advertising, and content.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong problem solving skills such as prioritisation, critical thinking and hypothesis development
Experience in business analysis.
Ability to craft complex, first of their kind deals and business models
Proficiency with MS office tools in particular Excel and Powerpoint.
Proficiency with Salesforce, JIRA/Confluence, Ads order management systems (i.e. Operative)
