JPMorganChase researchers will test quantum and hybrid quantum-classical computing applications in a secure enterprise environment to address complex financial services challenges. The round was led by Bullhound Capital, with participation from British Business Bank, European investors including Fynveur and Cofides, and US and Singapore-based firms. The UK-based scaleup builds quantum computers using superconducting qubits and offers them as a service through partner data centres in London, Tokyo and New York. Customers buy computing time rather than purchasing systems outright, an approach particularly attractive to regulated sectors like finance and defence requiring secure data storage. The funding will support geographic expansion and development of next-generation systems. OQC's current most advanced computer has 32 qubits, with CEO Gerald Mullally stating the goal is building systems for the "commercial era of quantum".
