Requirements
  • A minimum of 3+ years of project accounting and invoicing experience, preferably in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to prioritize work and maintain a high level of detail.
  • Full comprehension of project accounting.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with architect teams and other departments.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
Responsibilities
  • Perform Project Accountant duties, including project setup and maintenance, entering contract amounts, and client billing, with contextual understanding of how these activities integrate with financial performance and reporting.
  • Ensure accounting-system data integrity and correct allocation of cost data.
  • Resolve a wide range of issues, including complex issues requiring analysis and evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Review and analyze financial data from reports to identify budget variances and work with project managers to control financial risk.
  • Research and reconcile cost-accounting discrepancies in projects.
  • Respond to requests from Principals and Project Managers related to project phasing, contracts, billings, and reporting.
  • Seek improvements to workflow efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Educate, support, and collaborate with architectural staff regarding their understanding of project performance.
  • Build partnerships with project teams by providing strategic direction and guidance at weekly and monthly account review meetings.
  • Research and provide data and reports for special financial projects.
  • Participate in continuous process-improvement efforts and create or update documentation as needed.

  • Experience with third-party expense and invoice-approval accounting software.
