Title: Software Engineer

Location: Annapolis Junction, MD

OPS Consulting is seeking Software Engineers to work in Annapolis Junction, MD.  The Software Engineer (SWE) will develop, maintain, enhance, and resolve diverse and complex software systems. Working individually and as part of a team, the SWE will utilize software development and software design methodologies, provide input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the­ shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis.

Required Experience: 

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Level 0: No experience is required.

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree totaling four (4) years.

Level 1: Seven (7) years’ experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree totaling eleven (11) years.

Level 2: Fourteen (14) years’ experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree totaling eighteen (18) years.

Level 3: Twenty (20) years’ experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree totaling twenty- four (24) years.
