Simplify Jobs

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • CFO Michael Friedman joined June 2026 after a fundraise led by 8VC and Human Capital.
  • February 2026 brought Anne the Plumber, with Wilson Molina targeting majority ownership.
  • Mainshares’ 1,300-investor network and reporting tools still support sourcing and governance.

What critics are saying

  • No public operator has reached majority ownership, exposing a fragile, unproven conversion path.
  • Retiring-owner deal flow depends on founder trust and financing; a slowdown kills growth.
  • If American Operator cannot scale acquisitions profitably, the rebrand becomes a dead end.

What makes American Operator unique

  • American Operator buys retiring-owner businesses outright, then transfers control to operators.
  • It claims 95-plus transactions and $300 million since 2022.
  • Its 2025 Mainshares rebrand abandoned gap-equity fundraising for operate-to-own deals.

American Operator backs Wilson Molina to lead Anne the Plumber towards majority ownership

American Operator Holdings has partnered with Anne the Plumber, a residential plumbing company serving Rhode Island communities since 2014. The partnership backs Wilson Molina as chief executive officer, with a path to earn majority ownership over time. Founder Anne-Marie Rosario Flores will remain actively involved during the transition, overseeing customer relationships and mentoring the team. Molina, whom Flores has previously mentored, will lead day-to-day operations whilst maintaining the company's service standards. American Operator's model enables operators to gain majority ownership whilst preserving local control. The firm has completed over 95 small business transactions worth more than $300 million, acquiring businesses from retiring owners and partnering them with industry operators who eventually become majority owners.
