Requirements
  • A minimum of seven years of experience working in mid-rise and high-rise office buildings, including at least five years of supervisory property management experience.
  • Preferred technical experience includes fire alarm control panels, electrical systems, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, locks, water features, fire and life safety systems, and building automation.
  • A high school diploma or general education degree is required.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Formal training through programs such as Building Owners and Managers Association, Institute of Real Estate Management, and/or vocational coursework is preferred.
  • A strong interest in property management and the ability to apply technical knowledge to building operations are required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication ability is required to convey team goals effectively across functions.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and find creative solutions is required.
Responsibilities
  • Recommend, review, and continuously provide quality business environments for mid-rise, high-rise, and retail properties.
  • Maintain productive working relationships with property staff and outsourced engineering teams.
  • Study asset needs, prepare schedules and inspections, and implement changes to improve building maintenance operations.
  • Ensure all assets are operationally sound and visually maintained to operational standards.
  • Develop and support internal and outsourced engineering teams across multiple properties, focusing on efficiency, training, growth, and engagement.
  • Provide direction, obtain needed resources, supervise teams, establish team structure and workflow, and mentor team members toward their career goals.
  • Review construction plans and ensure specifications and construction documents address code compliance, constructability, noise transmission, waterproofing, and other critical issues.
  • Monitor project schedules during pre-construction and construction, assist the third-party general contractor, and coordinate project interactions and schedules with internal departments and external consultants.
  • Review and schedule contractors, prepare work scopes and contracts for capital projects, evaluate market pricing, and negotiate when needed.
  • Analyze operational data, make recommendations, and oversee implementation of property operations that support commercial tenants.

Sunnyvale's planning commission has approved a 225-residence apartment building near a Caltrain station

At its meeting Monday, the commission voted unanimously to approve Prometheus Real Estate Group Inc.'s plan to build an eight-story residential building on Kifer Road just west of Lawrence Expressway.
