Requirements
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Marketplace lines of business, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of relevant state and federal healthcare regulations.
  • Intermediate knowledge of healthcare informatics, including clinical quality measures.
  • Understanding of financial and budgeting processes and principles.
  • Ability to build effective partnerships within the organization to collaboratively execute business strategies.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • A bachelor's degree in nursing or a healthcare-relevant field.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a clinician in an acute healthcare setting.
  • At least 3 years of clinical quality assurance, data analytics, and reporting experience in a managed-care setting.
  • Prior case management experience.
  • Experience with hospital-based and outpatient clinical quality measures, strategies, and reporting.
  • Registered Nurse certification is required.
Responsibilities
  • Represent SCP Health, patient services, and the hospital to retain existing referral sources and grow new referrals and volumes by enhancing client, primary care provider, patient, and provider satisfaction, quality case management, emergency department relations, and other facility relations.
  • Support training coordination and orientation for new office staff and patient care providers, including maintaining orientation packets, obtaining computer access, and coordinating facility-specific training.
  • Participate in physician interviews and coordinate with Staffing Operations so applicants meet medical directors and tour facilities of interest.
  • Act as a professional representative with hospital and staff personnel and promote communication among the hospitalist team, hospital staff, patients and families, caregivers, administration, nursing staff, referral sources, care management, and SCP Health corporate team members.
  • Serve as the point person and liaison for the program in support of the Medical Director.
  • Maintain and cultivate collaborative relationships with key personnel to achieve organizational and program goals.
  • Monitor onsite performance and operational challenges, and share recommended improvement and efficiency strategies with the Vice President of Clinical Performance Improvement and Field Operations teams.
  • Oversee daily practice operations and support program needs related to physician engagement, facility initiatives, and priorities.
  • Lead and support daily workflows for clinical performance initiatives, including throughput and length-of-stay workflows, multidisciplinary rounds attendance, physician and patient rounding, provider education, data analysis, and service recovery.
  • Recommend and implement practice improvements related to key performance indicators and client and provider satisfaction.
  • Establish and facilitate standing Hospital Medicine Committee meetings with hospital administration, facility department managers, SCP Health Hospital Medicine representatives, and emergency department representatives when applicable.
  • Facilitate Medical Director engagement to support meeting participation, provider recruiting, and retention.
  • Remain available by phone or pager for emergencies, patient complaints, high-risk patients or situations, and practice support functions.
  • Work with hospital administration to achieve clinical and practice indicators related to quality, core measures, readmission rates, length of stay, case mix index, billing and diagnostic coding trends, and daily volume statistics.
  • Participate in organizational planning and program evaluation with the Medical Director and Field Operations team through collaborative communication, constructive feedback, problem solving, data analysis, and operational reviews.
  • Meet regularly with the Medical Director and Field Operations team to develop clinical protocols, order sets, workflows, best practices, and engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure completion of all site-specific requirements.
  • Participate in required corporate meetings, training sessions, organizational pilot programs, and cross-coverage as requested.
  • Support value-based care goals and data and information-sharing requirements.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as requested by the Vice President of Clinical Performance Improvement and Field Operations team.
Desired Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of staff development and the educational process, quality improvement, and continuous process or performance improvement methodology.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and evaluate Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement activities.
  • Direct patient care experience in intensive care unit or emergency medicine settings.
  • A master's degree.
