Senior Accountant

• Compile, adjust and evaluate various accruals to ensure their accuracy.
• Prepare additional account and other analyses as requested by management.
• Ensures that balance sheets are accurately stated and reconciled to the general ledger. Researches variances, determines root causes and makes recommendations for adjustments.
• Enters monthly journal entries to properly record accounting transactions, ensuring that journal entries have proper backup to substantiate the entry.
• Reviews financial statements for operating trends and results, researching variances to forecast and budget prior month and prior year.
• Prepares financial reports, analyzing data for management review.
• Researches complex accounting data in order to comply with new accounting policy implementation.
• Researches and develops automated Oracle routines such as mass allocations and reoccurring journal entries.
• Researches ways of streamlining and standardizing processes to support the Accounting function.
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Preferred Skills:

• Utilize SQL and SQL Server databases, Tableau, Excel and other reporting software to design and generate reports as requested.  Implement report automation when applicable.
• Assist management in identifying and delivering new reporting capabilities. Able to take reporting asks from idea to implementation.  Recommend innovative solutions.
• Evaluate current practices, models, and recurring tasks for potential automation using advanced Excel and other technical skills (Macros, Visual Basic, etc..).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in industry or similar work environment.
• Advanced Excel skills including Macros required.
• SQL query skills with applicable work experience required.
• Experience with Oracle & Essbase/Smartview a plus.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Self-starter willing to expand & learn new skill sets.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
