- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Strong customer service orientation is required.
- Basic computer proficiency is required.
- Complete start-of-day processes, including powering equipment and uncovering the keratometer/autorefractor, visual field, and A-scan rooms as needed.
- Room patients according to standard operating procedures and assist the physician during examinations and procedures.
- Perform diagnostic studies and treatments as ordered by the provider.
- Process and assist the provider with requests, including medication refill requests and patient forms.
- Handle patient and clinical messages.
- Distribute, review, and teach patient education.
- Prepare and process chart paperwork and ensure ordered tests have been performed and results are present.
- Complete end-of-day processes according to standard operating procedures.
- Maintain reasonably regular and punctual attendance consistent with applicable policies and laws.
- Maintain compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area.
- Participate in maintaining clinical supplies.
- Perform other assigned, incidental, and related duties.
- Strong team-player orientation.
