Requirements
  • A Ph.D. in economics, public policy, or a related field;
  • Relevant work experience in federal and/or state higher education policy;
  • A successful track record of empirical analysis with demonstrated data skills;
  • Familiarity with higher education and workforce data and research;
  • Proficiency in quantitative methods for policy analysis (including Stata and/or R);
  • Strong communication and writing skills;
  • Experience managing research projects and working on policy-relevant topics in higher education, labor economics, or related areas;
  • Candidates should have experience with data such as state and federal administrative data
Responsibilities
  • Conduct and help to manage long-term, publishable research projects for the Postsecondary Education & Economics Research Center (PEER Center);
  • Work with data such as state and federal administrative data to support research projects;
  • Engage in rigorous research related to postsecondary costs and finance, accountability, value, and student success;
  • Engage in efforts to connect this research directly to the policymaking process
Desired Qualifications
  • Strong preference for candidates willing to work in Washington, D.C. (though consideration for qualified researchers located outside D.C.)
  • No teaching responsibilities; this is a term faculty, non-tenure track position; initial appointment is for 12 months and renewable annually
