Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Three years of information technology experience are required.
  • Two years of desktop and/or service desk support experience are required.
  • Excellent customer service and written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Ability to triage, track, and monitor ticket progress according to required service-level agreements and follow escalation procedures is required.
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt to new and changing environments, and take on additional responsibilities is required.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team setting, follow up, and successfully complete assigned tasks is required.
  • Ability to provide end-user support; analyze and diagnose application and system issues; create and update user accounts in Active Directory and other systems; install software; maintain personal computers; and maintain communication for planned and unplanned outages is required.
  • Fire Life Safety Training issued by the City of Los Angeles is required; applicants without a card upon hire must obtain it within 30 days and renew it before expiration.
Responsibilities
  • Act as the point of contact for information technology-related issues and answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming telephone, voicemail, email, and in-person assistance requests involving hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies.
  • Interview users to collect problem information and lead them through diagnostic procedures to determine the source of errors.
  • Analyze, diagnose, and resolve user support issues; research, isolate, resolve, and follow up on routine user problems; and refer complex problems to supervisors or technical staff.
  • Create and update tickets through the Footprints ticketing system according to specified priority levels and follow USC Health Sciences information technology problem and ticket-tracking procedures.
  • Provide user-account provisioning services by creating and updating user accounts through Active Directory.
  • Install software through Active Directory or System Center Configuration Manager and provide remote support through GoToAssist and System Center Configuration Manager.
  • Provide basic in-house training on the Microsoft application suite and set up and configure email for multi-platform mobile devices.
  • Assist with the acquisition and installation of personal computers, servers, software, peripheral devices, and other necessary equipment.
  • Collaborate with USC Health Sciences information technology team members to resolve system problems promptly.
  • Provide technical and troubleshooting assistance to USC Health Sciences Campus end users.
  • Escalate priority and unresolved issues to leadership for prompt resolution.
  • Provide customer service, training, and support to USC Health Sciences Campus end users.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to the USC Health Sciences Information Technology Client Services Team.
  • Follow USC Health Sciences Information Technology processes and practices.
  • Assist with training, documentation, and guidance for information technology staff and provide oversight for global tickets.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate's degree in a related field is preferred.
