Requirements
  • At least 6 years of Windows systems administration experience across desktop and server environments.
  • At least 6 years of Linux systems administration experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • At least 3 years of storage area network infrastructure experience.
  • At least 3 years of virtualization experience.
  • At least 1 year of scripting and automation services experience.
  • At least 4 years of networking experience.
  • At least 1 year of security compliance and best practices experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience with middleware such as Apache, WebSphere, or WebLogic and databases such as SQL or Oracle.
  • Experience with the Rational suite of software development tools, including ClearCase, ClearQuest, or Rational Software Architect.
  • Experience with hardware and software interoperability and installation and configuration processes.
  • Understanding of system and network engineering principles and system backup and recovery best practices.
  • Ability to work independently with department staff and state, local, and federal agencies to accomplish goals and meet extensive deadlines.
  • Knowledge of current telephony services and technologies.
  • Knowledge of Avaya or Cisco platforms, call-center features, and operations.
  • Ability to resolve technical telecommunications problems using multiple vendors or contractors.
  • Ability to develop work flows and call flows.
  • Ability to work with multiple network platforms, including wide-area networks, wireless local-area networks, security, voice, and video.
  • Ability to disseminate information effectively to teams and customers.
  • Understanding of large and complex network environments.
Responsibilities
  • Build, operate, and integrate systems in development, testing, and BETA environments.
  • Build servers from virtual and bare-metal machines.
  • Implement middleware and commercial off-the-shelf products.
  • Configure and maintain network services on servers.
  • Integrate systems and applications at service levels.
  • Write shell scripts to automate common administration tasks.
  • Maintain machines using VMware administration tools.
  • Understand call-center features such as automatic call distributions, call vectors, and vector directory numbers.
  • Function under pressure and maintain composure while resolving service-related issues.
Desired Qualifications
  • MCSE or RHCE certification.
  • Understanding or experience with security and patch management.
  • Understanding of authentication systems such as LDAP, X.509, smart-card authentication, and single sign-on.
  • Understanding of government security guidelines and standards.
  • Understanding of automated audit-log collection and analysis tools.
  • Industry certification such as CCNA or CCNP.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer service skills.
