Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or Civil Engineering is preferred.
  • At least 7 years of heavy civil construction scheduler experience is required.
  • Ability to interface and communicate effectively with others is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6 is required.
  • Proven ability to identify and mitigate scheduling issues for simple and complex construction projects is required.
  • Proficiency in generating and maintaining cost- and resource-loaded schedules is required.
  • Ability to self-prioritize and self-start projects and task work is required.
  • Ability to effectively multitask similar activities in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment is required.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are required.
  • Advanced verbal, written, and presentation communication skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage conceptual request-for-proposal, bidding/preconstruction, and final project schedules using preliminary and ongoing project information for estimating, preconstruction, and operations departments.
  • Attend job-site meetings, collaborate with stakeholders, and visit job sites to develop project schedules.
  • Create standard and custom graphs and charts for site personnel to manage projects.
  • Build and maintain a database of activity groups with as-built information for future reference.
  • Prepare time impact analyses for identified schedule and budget risks.
  • Ensure timely, complete, and accurate baseline schedule submissions in compliance with company procedures and contracts.
  • Assist with schedule maintenance and change-order management as needed.
  • Participate in financial and legal project reviews to evaluate and mitigate schedule risks.
  • Integrate owner activities, project close-out activities, and inputs from Technical Services and Safety Departments into project schedules.
  • Develop documentation for claims, assist in identifying potential claims, and take steps to prevent or defend against them.
  • Participate in meetings on project delay issues and suggest alternative scheduling methods to recover progress.
  • Prepare monthly schedule status reports for project management and the Scheduling Manager.
