Requirements
  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • One year of experience working as a personal care assistant, home health aide, or resident assistant is preferred.
  • One year of experience working in assisted living or memory care is preferred.
  • No certification is required.
  • Candidates must provide a high level of customer service and demonstrate a passion for working with seniors.
  • Employees must practice the LCS Hospitality Promises in interactions with residents, participants, fellow employees, and guests.
Responsibilities
  • Assist residents and clients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, shaving, incontinence care, foot care, vital signs, and height and weight checks according to policy.
  • Make beds as needed in the morning, turn down beds as needed in the evening, and change bed linens weekly or as needed.
  • Complete assigned resident personal laundry.
  • Assist residents during meals by cutting food and encouraging them to eat.
  • Promote a calm atmosphere.
  • Complete and document shift assignments; report incomplete assignments to the nursing supervisor.
  • Report unusual resident behavior or changes in resident status to the nurse on duty and the Director of Health Services.
  • Provide planned or directed activities.
  • Respond to call lights and emergencies promptly.
  • Provide emergency care within the scope of practice.
