Requirements
  • MS degree in electrical or computer engineering and 10+ years of technical experience preferred
  • Direct experience with memory system design, computer architecture, and system engineering (H/W and S/W)
  • Direct/indirect experience in industry standard (JEDEC, CXL, PICSIG)
  • Experience working directly with CPU/SoC or DRAM companies or customers of Samsung Memory BU
  • Proven, excellent collaboration and communication skills is a must. This role requires frequent communication with the partner and customer to understand their requirements and goals and then working with Samsung technical team to communicate and align on these goals. Medium level of travel required, est. 20%, both international and domestic
  • Direct experience in CPU/SoC memory controller, SRAM/DRAM/HBM design
  • Solid understanding in DDR technology based on industry standard such as JEDEC. Deep understanding in memory hierarchy and memory offloading
  • Mid/long term product strategy/planning related to emerging memory (near/far, offloading, tiered)

Responsibilities
  • Technical comprehension of Samsung's latest DRAM and related products and provide expertise for the possible improvement for next generation product planning
  • CPU/SoC partner and customer collaboration on key problem statements in memory hierarchy, focusing on Hyperscale environments
  • Identify key device-level requirements and specifications that can resolve memory hierarchy/DRAM related system level issues
  • Understand latest technical trend in SoC/Cache/SRAM/DRAM/Interconnects and identify key features and takeaways, applicable for Samsung's future memory product design & development
  • Define new memory hierarchy that can be placed in between multiple CPU based cache layers as well as through new interconnects such as UCIe/CXL/Optics
  • Act as first line of response for technical and engineering requests related to new DRAM technology for future memory business
  • Facilitate/strengthen technical communication between the partners/customer and Samsung engineering teams
  • Develop customer relationship and achieve customer satisfaction through quick and thorough response to customer requests
  • Partner with engineering and business groups at customer and Samsung to ensure new product introduction activities are meeting the schedule and technical requirements
  • Stay abreast of the latest technology development in memory & storage area
  • Learn, understand, and document evolving industry standards, CPU/SoC roadmap and technical objectives. Present this technical trend data to key Samsung personnel such as Technical marketing, Business enabling and Product planning teams for use in establishing Samsung's global product strategy
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with external/internal key design/development engineers and managers. This is accomplished thru daily interactions and providing exceptional communication and relationship building
