  • An Associate Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or another related field is required.
  • Five to seven years of Navy METCAL experience are required.
  • NAVSEA In-Service Quality Program for METCAL Training certification is required.
  • The employee must be able to conduct METCAL training with shipboard and shore-based personnel.
  • ISO 9000 Lead Auditor and Oxygen Clean Technician certifications are required, or the employee must be able to complete the certifications within one year of hire.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite is required.
  • Familiarity with Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual requirements is required.
  • The employee must possess and maintain an active Department of Defense SECRET Security Clearance.
  • The employee must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
  • The employee must complete the required background check and obtain customer approval and acceptance.
Responsibilities
  • Support the Field Calibration Activity and Standard Generic Calibration Procedures programs.
  • Perform JNACT and Oxygen Clean program audits at local activities and Systems Commands in accordance with international and national standards, NAVSEA, Fleet, and local Naval Support Activity directives and instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with Fleet Technical Assistance Programs and Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual requirements.
  • Maintain certified instructor status.
  • Provide Divers Life Support Systems support for the Oxygen Clean Program.
  • Provide calibration readiness reports and updates to the JNACT website.
  • Prepare site inspection and audit certification letters, including Certificates of Compliance or Non-compliance and Scopes of Competency.
  • Perform Oxygen Clean inspections and certify Oxygen Clean Facilities in accordance with applicable TYCOM instructions.
  • Maintain ISO 9000 Lead Auditor and Oxygen Clean Technician certifications, including completing Navy Oxygen Clean Technical School within one year of hire.
  • Evaluate Oxygen Clean Technicians' proficiency and knowledge by administering written and practical examinations.
  • Provide on-site technical assistance to fleet personnel.
  • Conduct Calibration Capability Evaluations and Reviews.
  • Coordinate funding requests and schedule the manpower and equipment required to investigate METCAL program discrepancies and evaluate new metrology program requirements.
  • Coordinate and schedule off-ship calibration or repair services for ships within the assigned geographic area.
  • Maintain liaison with RMC, shipboard calibration coordinators, and ISIC to prevent or resolve calibration scheduling and readiness problems.
  • Ensure Regional Loan Pools are established at the local RMC to alleviate shipboard maintenance support shortfalls.
  • Ensure Regional Loan Pools include a wide variety of calibrated, ready-for-issue items to support continuous availability.
